Introduction
The Department of Standard Malaysia(DSM）is the Malaysian Agency in charge of standard development and management. DSM appoints The Standard and Industrial Research Institute of Malaysia(SIRIM）as the authority to handle specific standards management. Communication Equipment Testing Section(CETS), under the jurisdiction of SIRIM, is responsible of Type approval of communication equipment. Communication equipment set forth in the 31 categories of electrical products are in the mandatory controlled product list. Though EMC is not yet mandatory in Malaysia, ST Approval should be obtained prior to SIRIM type approval application. SIRIM label could be procured from the authority. Customer can also choose to print themselves.
